Allan Avila received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of California Riverside in 2015 and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara in 2017 and joined the Mezic research group in the spring of 2016. Allan has worked on utilizing Koopman operator theory to develop a data-driven platform for the analysis and foresting of highway traffic dynamics. Allan has also worked on developing quantum-accurate data-driven interatomic potentials for modeling hydrogen-oxygen combustion reactions. In his free time, Allan enjoys spending time with his wife and repairing, modifying, and upgrading his cars.
